Once our teacher explained us what to do, my friend and I were really interested in doing the collection work!! We made a list of all those plants which are to be collected and also of the plants which were (and are) easily available in our locality. I remember the two of us going to another friend’s place to find ‘Jatropha’. It is actually a pretty plant with dark magenta sort of a color. Then we found ‘Tridax’ near our local library; blue bells in my backyard!! Of course, the specimens of those plants we didn’t find were prepared (yes, bought!) with some professional help!!

Herbarium…
One unforgettable part of my biology course in my twelfth grade was the ‘herbarium’. The name sounds good right?! Actually this was a process which was really very interesting for us. We never got to look at real plants in our botany classes. We usually looked at specimens brought by our teacher; we never had any sort of a field trip or the like. So for us, herbarium was real fun. It was time get into the places full of bushes and climbers to find that little yellow Tridax and the famous ‘blue bells’ or Clitoria. I remember my botany teacher giving us instructions on what to do with the blank white chart sheets with labels on the bottom right of each sheet.
